The Commissioner Of Women Affairs Aisha Rano Distributes 30,000 Naira Grant To 200 Women

The Commissioner for Women Affairs, Children and person with disability in Kano State, Hajiya Aisha Lawan Saji Rano, has provided a grant of 30,000 Naira to each woman to engage in self-reliance trades and improve their lives, targeting 200 women suffering from urinary incontinence in Kano State as part of activities to mark the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women and Children.

The event took place at the Kwalli where the Fistula Foundation trained 200 women in self-reliance skills to enable them to support their children and improve their living conditions, particularly those who care for them.

The commissioner urged women to regularly go for medical check-ups at hospitals to ensure their health before childbirth to avoid the occurrence of urinary incontinence.

Aisha Lawan Saji described how the program was conducted while calling on those who benefited from the support to utilize it in a proper manner.

The in charge of the urinary incontinence center in Kano State, Aisha Kurawa, expressed gratitude to the Kano government, especially the Ministry of Women Affairs, Children and disable, for their support of these individuals. She stated that this is the first time assistance has been provided to people suffering from urinary incontinence in Kano State.

On their part, some of the beneficiaries of the support expressed their satisfaction and pledged to use the financial aid for the trades they have learned.

Among the attendees at the event were the Director of Social Welfare, Haj Binta Yakasai, the Deputy Chairperson of the NNPP party in Kano State, Haj Hauwa Fulani, and others.
