NYA Family Visits Waiya, Praises Gov Yusuf For Appointing ''The Right Person'' As Information commissioner

Members and former executive of Kano chapter of the Northern Youth Assembly (NYA) have paid a solidarity visit to the group founder Comrade Ibrahim Abdullahi Waiya who is now the commissioner of information.

The visibly excited members of the NYA visited the commissioner in his office to register their solidarity and support, applauding Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf for appointing him as a member of his cabinet.

Speaking during the visit, of the women leaders in the NYA Hajaji Gambo Mustapha who congratulated the commissioner on behalf of the delegation, expressed readiness to support the commissioner in new task with advice and prayers.

Hajiya Gambo spoke extensively on the leadership qualities of comrade Ibrahim Waiya, expressed confidence that governor Abba will never regret appointing him.

On his part, former State secretary of the NYA and now vice chairman Maryam Abacha American University Dr Habib Uwais also commended Governor Abba for his foresight in choosing Ibrahim Abdullahi Waiya as member of his cabinet, noting that, the commissioner is a true son of Kano who is always considering Kano first.

Dr Mustapha Muktar, Kano NYA chairman reiterated commitment to supporting the commissioner to discharge his duties.

On his party, the current Kano state chapter chairman of the NYA Sulaiman Idris, assured the delegation that a new NYA is coming soon with series of activities and programmes and everybody will be carried along.

Responding, Comrade Ibrahim Waiya who is visibly happy with the faces at the event, expressed gratitude for the NYA family.

He assured the delegation that, Kano state government will work towards uplifting the living standards of vulnerable groups in the state extending hands friendship to the group.

Comrade Ibrahim Abdullahi Waiya was the founder of the group, and serverd as it’s national president in previous years, and under his watch NYA has conducted numerous projects which directly affect youth, women and the general public
