The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) Kano Strategic Command has made a significant breakthrough in the fight against substance abuse with the arrest of 29-year-old Adamu Yusuf. On August 23, 2025, operatives attached to the Kiru area command apprehended Yusuf along Zaria-Kano Road, Kwanar Dangora area, while he was coming from Lagos with a substantial cache of Tramadol capsules.
The suspect had cleverly concealed 7,000 capsules of Tramadol, weighing 4.1 kilograms, in a 20-liter oil jerrycan. However, the NDLEA operatives demonstrated exceptional expertise in detecting hidden substances, showcasing their skills and experience in identifying concealed drugs. This successful arrest underscores the agency’s unwavering commitment to disrupting the supply chain of illicit substances and ensuring community safety.
The Commander of the Kano Strategic Command, ACGN AI Ahmad, commended the operatives for their diligence and professionalism, while also expressing gratitude to the Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of NDLEA, Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa (Rtd), for his continued support and guidance. This support has been instrumental in enabling the command to achieve notable successes in the fight against substance abuse.
