Kano Police Nab Suspected Car Thief, Recover Stolen Vehicle.

Kano – The Kano State Police Command has arrested a 40-year-old man, Bala Sani, for allegedly stealing a Rav-4 motor vehicle.

The vehicle, with registration number YAB 881 JK, Abuja, was recovered by a team of policemen from the Anti-Car Theft Unit, State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), on December 28, 2024.

According to the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, the suspect was apprehended on January 4, 2025, at his hometown in Kwado Quarters, Katsina local government, Katsina State.

The suspect confessed to conspiring with another individual to steal the vehicle from Zaria, Kaduna State, and driving it to Kano with the intention of selling it.

The recovered vehicle is currently in police custody, and the suspect will be charged to court upon completion of the investigation.

The police are urging the owner of the vehicle to report to the Police Public Relations Office, Kano State Command, or contact 08067885568 with proof of ownership.

In a related development, the State Commissioner of Police, CP Salman Dogo Garba, has called on residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to the nearest police station or through the command’s contact numbers.
