Kano Police Conducts Clearance Operations, Arrests 24 Suspected Thugs, Recovers Dangerous Weapons.

Following recent rival fights between youths in Kofar Mata, Yakasai, Zango, Zage, and neighboring areas, the Kano State Police Command swiftly responded to restore normalcy.

In a statement signed by Police Public Relation Officer, Abdullahi H. Kiyawa Says The State Commissioner of Police, CP Salman Dogo Garba, conducted an on-the-spot assessment and deployed adequate personnels.

In line with the directives of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, PhD, NPM, on community-centred policing and strategic security measures, the Command engaged security stakeholders, including Ward Heads, Local Vigilante Groups, Elders, and Businessmen. Public enlightenment and sensitization campaigns were also conducted through radio, television, and social media.

According to him, the command from 13th to 16th December 2024, clearance operations within Kano Metropolis resulted in the arrest of 24 suspected thugs and the recovery of dangerous weapons. All suspects will be charged to court upon completion of investigations.

The Commissioner of Police expressed appreciation for the support and cooperation of the good people of Kano State and reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to combating crimes and maintaining law and order.

This effort is part of the command’s commitment to maintaining law and order in the state. Notorious thugs arrested known for attacking a Vigilante Commander and damaging a police vehicle.
