The Head of Service, Kano State, Hajiya Bilkisu Shehu Maimota, has received members of the Council of Retired Permanent Secretaries and Heads of Service during a courtesy visit to her office.
The delegation, led by its Chairman, Malam Ishaq Mahmud Umar, paid the visit to strengthen collaboration and share valuable experiences aimed at enhancing the effectiveness and productivity of the Kano
State Civil Service.
Speaking during the meeting, Malam Ishaq Mahmud Umar and his entourage commended the efforts of the present administration in repositioning the civil service and assured the council’s readiness to contribute its wealth of experience towards promoting good governance and efficient service delivery.
The discussions focused on a wide range of issues affecting the civil service, including capacity building, mentorship for younger officers, institutional memory, policy continuity, and strategies for improving administrative efficiency across Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs).
In her remarks, Hajiya Bilkisu Shehu Maimota expressed appreciation to the council for the visit and acknowledged the invaluable contributions of retired senior civil servants to the development of the state. She noted that their experience and guidance remain crucial in building a more professional, productive, and result-oriented civil service.
The Head of Service reaffirmed the commitment of the Kano State Government under the leadership of His Excellency, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, to implement reforms and initiatives that will strengthen the civil service and enhance service delivery to the people of Kano State.
The meeting ended with a renewed commitment by both parties to work together in advancing the growth and development of the Kano State Civil Service.
