In its ongoing commitment to fostering inclusivity and improving the lives of its citizens, the Kano State Government has reaffirmed its dedication to rolling out additional empowerment programs that will encompass various aspects of human endeavor.
The Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Alhaji Umar Farouq Ibrahim, made this known while receiving the executive members of the Shekara Old Girls Association in his office.
Alhaji Umar Farouq Ibrahim emphasized that His Excellency, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, remains deeply committed to the welfare of Kano State residents, describing him as a leader divinely chosen to serve the people. He assured that the present administration has institutionalized empowerment initiatives as an ongoing process to ensure maximum benefits for all. He further noted that in the coming months, the impact of these programs will become increasingly evident.
The SSG highlighted the health and education sectors as top priorities, given their critical role in human capital development. He commended the Office of the Head of Civil Service for spearheading various manpower development programs aimed at enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of civil servants. He also revealed plans to introduce a specialized capacity-building program for teachers, recognizing the contributions of voluntary educators and their role in improving educational standards.
Expressing appreciation for the leadership of the Shekara Old Girls Association, the SSG lauded the resilience and dedication of its chairperson, Hajiya Amina Ibrahim Bibi Farouq, for her relentless advocacy in drawing the government’s attention to the needs of Shekara Girls School. He assured the association of the government’s commitment to addressing the school’s pressing concerns and implementing necessary improvements.
Earlier, the Chairperson of the Shekara Old Girls Association, Hajiya Amina Ibrahim Bibi Farouq, expressed her gratitude to His Excellentcy, Alhaji Abba Kabir for the well deserved appointment and reaffirmed the association’s commitment to the development of Shekara Girls School. She described the current state of the institution as a shadow of its former self and called on the government to take urgent action in restoring its past glory. She emphasized that the school has produced individuals who have significantly contributed to the community and beyond.
She concluded by offering prayers for Allah’s continued guidance and support for the administration in its quest to serve the people of Kano State.
