The Kano State Government has notified all state civil servants that a test credit of ₦1 (One Naira) has been transferred to their respective salary accounts as part of a trial of the newly deployed salary payment gateway.
According to a circular issued by the Office of the Kano State Accountant General, the ₦1 transfer is strictly a system test and does not constitute the payment of September salary.
The Office explained that the exercise is intended to test and validate the new salary payment system before it is fully deployed for salary payments.
It further stated that the actual September salary payment will follow upon completion of the system validation process.
The government therefore urged all civil servants to take note of the development and avoid mistaking the ₦1 test credit for their September salary.
The circular also called for the widest possible dissemination of the information among state civil servants to ensure that they are properly informed about the purpose of the transaction.
