The grand finale of the Under-13 Bundesliga Cup Kaduna took place on Sunday, 14th September 2025, bringing excitement, passion, and grassroots talent to the forefront of youth football in Northern Nigeria.
The highly anticipated final match featured Kaduna Academy Football Club against Mantex Football Academy. Kaduna Academy, representing Augsburg, displayed exceptional skill and teamwork, defeating Mantex (representing Hoffenheim) with a resounding 6–1 victory.
This year’s tournament kicked off with 18 teams, each proudly representing a Bundesliga club. The competition was designed not only to promote grassroots football but also to bring the Bundesliga brand closer to young fans and their communities in Kaduna.
Speaking after the final, the organizer Mohammed Mohammed, CEO of Amma White Multimedia Company, called the attention of the leadership of DFL and Bundesliga International GmbH to put more effort and support into such activities. He emphasized that the German league is now gaining greater popularity in Northern Nigeria because of initiatives like this.
He further noted that grassroots tournaments like the U-13 Bundesliga Cup Kaduna are not just about football but also about building stronger connections with millions of Hausa-speaking fans, inspiring young talents, and strengthening the Bundesliga’s presence across the region.
The Under-13 Bundesliga Cup Kaduna forms part of wider Bundesliga promotional activities in Northern Nigeria, including giveaways, viewing center activations, radio and TV programs, and social media engagement, all aimed at making the Bundesliga the most loved league across the region.
With Hausa being spoken by over 90 million people, these grassroots activities have proven to be a powerful channel for deepening Bundesliga’s connection with its ever-growing fanbase in Nigeria.
