The Head of Service of Kano State, Hajiya Bilkisu Shehu Maimota, has today represented the Executive Governor of Kano State, Abba Kabir Yusuf, at a special ceremony organised by Khalifa Isyaku Rabiu University (KHAIRUN) in honour of the Vice Chancellor of Bayero University Kano, Professor Haruna Musa.
Speaking at the occasion, the Head of Service described the ceremony as particularly meaningful, noting that Professor Haruna Musa is a true son of Kano whose contributions to scholarship, public service, leadership and intellectual excellence have continued to bring honour to the state.
Hajiya Bilkisu said the honour was a well-deserved recognition of Professor Haruna Musa’s commitment to academic excellence and his valuable contributions to the development of education and human capital.
She further reaffirmed the commitment of the Abba Kabir Yusuf-led administration to transforming the education sector, stressing that more than 39 percent of the state’s budget has been committed to education.
According to her, the administration has also demonstrated its commitment to strengthening teaching and learning through the recruitment of 5,000 BESDA volunteer teachers, in addition to the issuance of more appointment letters to teachers on permanent and pensionable terms.
She said the measures were part of the administration’s broader efforts to improve the quality of education, create opportunities for young people and build a strong human capital base for the future development of Kano State.
The Head of Service congratulated Professor Haruna Musa on the recognition and expressed optimism that his continued leadership and intellectual contributions would inspire greater achievements in the education sector.
