RANO, KANO STATE — A fire outbreak was recorded at a petrol filling station in Rano Local Government Area of Kano State on Tuesday, August 25, 2026.
The incident occurred at Tukur Muhd Nig. Limited, located along Saya Saya Road, Rano, at about 9:20 p.m.
According to the Kano State Fire Service, the Emergency Response Unit at Rano Fire Station received a distress call from the station manager, Abubakar Umar, reporting the outbreak.
Firefighters immediately mobilised to the scene, where they discovered that the fire had started from a Mikano generator at the filling station.
The fire affected the rear tyres of a CANTER vehicle, which were slightly alight. However, firefighters successfully brought the situation under control before it could spread to other parts of the filling station.
The Fire Service said the cause of the incident was suspected to be a fault in the generator.
The Director of the Agency, Alhaji Sani Anas, urged members of the public to remain vigilant and take proactive measures to prevent fire outbreaks.
He also advised residents, business owners and operators of commercial premises to equip their properties with functional fire extinguishers and strictly observe appropriate fire-safety measures at all times.
