The Association of Retired Heads of Service and Permanent Secretaries (AORHSPS), Kano State, has announced that it will hold its Fifth Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, as part of its statutory obligation to review its activities, assess progress and chart a way forward.
According to a press release, The Publicity Secretary, Muhammad M. Danyaro, the meeting marks the Association’s seventh year in existence and is in line with Article Six of its Constitution, which mandates members to meet annually for stock-taking, performance evaluation and discussions on issues affecting the Association.
The AGM is scheduled to take place at Ten-To-Ten Restaurant, No. 2 Alu Avenue, Nassarawa GRA, Kano, and will be chaired by the Chairman of the Association’s Board of Trustees, Alhaji Mohammed Garba Maisikeili.
As part of activities marking the annual gathering, the Association will sponsor a public lecture focusing on the growing menace of drug and substance abuse among youths and its connection to rising cases of restiveness and violent crimes, particularly in metropolitan Kano and other parts of the state.
The lecture will be delivered by Dr. Aminu Shehu Ibrahim, a Consultant Physiatrist at Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital and Deputy Director at the Federal Neuropsychiatric Hospital, Dawanau.
The event will have the Head of Civil Service, Hajiya Bilkisu Maimota, as Chief Host, while the Secretary to the State Government will serve as the Special Guest of Honour.
The Chairman, Alhaji Ishaq Mahmoud Umar, is also expected to present the Annual Report highlighting the Association’s achievements, challenges and future direction.
According to the statement, Proceedings are scheduled to commence at 10:00 a.m.
