The Forum of All Progressives Congress (APC) Ex-Councillors expresses its profound appreciation to His Excellency, Alh. Abba Kabir Yusuf, for being thoughtful and strategic, in the nomination of Murtala Sule Garo as Deputy Governor.
Following our consultative meeting held to review recent political developments, the forum wishes to note that, the Governor’s decision reflects a strong commitment to competence-driven governance and the consolidation of administrative stability within the state.
As former councillors from 44 Local Government Council Areas, we commend Governor Yusuf for prioritizing experience, loyalty, and grassroots connection in his choice, for Deputy Governor, emphasizing that such qualities are essential for strengthening governance delivery and sustaining public confidence.
In our opinion, Hon. Murtala Sule Garo possesses a proven track record in public service, party administration, and political coordination, making him well-suited to support the Governor in advancing the administration’s developmental agenda.

While reaffirming our endorsement of the nomination, the APC Ex-Councillors calls on party members, stakeholders, and the general public to support the Governor’s decision in the interest of unity, stability, and sustained development.
We also urge political actors to place collective progress above personal considerations, stressing that cohesive leadership remains vital for achieving meaningful and lasting impact.
As a forum we reiterate our unwavering support for the administration of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf and its commitment to promoting decisions that strengthen governance and improve the welfare of the people.
