The Executive Secretary kano State Hospitals Management Board Dr Mansur Mudi Nagoda have debunked reports claiming that 4 patients died at Imamu Wali maternity hospital over lack of electricity in the facility.

Dr Nagoda explained that, Imamu Wali electricity was cut off when kedco visited the facility and insisted that they want to change the meter  which the management resisted and asked them to give a proper identification before they would be allowed to make any changes.

Subsequently, they gave a monthly bill of N300,000 and also requested to pay the sum of  N1,800,000 for previous months even though the facility runs on a free service basis.

“kedco should understand that this is a hospital where the less privileged visit to get free services and should pity them. Our only succour is the solar light in the theatre, labour ward and Epu. I have asked the management of the facility to get the bill from kedco so we can upset the it. Meanwhile, we have immediately purchased diesel so as to be able to pump water and leave the generator on 24/7 to keep the facility running without any hindrance pending the outcome of our meeting with kedco.

Dr Nagoda added that all the record of the facility was checked and no death was registered as claimed by some rumour mongers. ” We are doing our maximum best to see that all facilities get the attention needed”.
