The Commander of the NDLEA Kano Strategic Command, CN DY Lawal, on 17th December 2025 paid familiarization courtesy visits to the Comptroller of the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS), Kano State Command, CIS TA Lawal, and to the Acting Zonal Director of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Kano Zonal Directorate, Mr. Friday S. Ebelo.
The visits were aimed at strengthening working relationships and enhancing coordination among enforcement agencies in the fight against substance abuse and drug trafficking across Kano State.
CN DY Lawal explained that the visits were intended to deepen collaboration and coordinate joint efforts against drug trafficking and substance abuse. He called for continuous sensitization programmes and ongoing training for officers in service to ensure they remain well-equipped to provide effective and adequate services to the public.
CIS TA Lawal welcomed the NDLEA’s initiative and affirmed the NIS Kano Command’s commitment to working closely with NDLEA to safeguard Nigeria’s borders and support efforts to reduce drug trafficking and substance abuse in the state.
Mr. Ebelo assured the NDLEA of the EFCC Kano Zonal Directorate’s continued commitment and support, and pledged to collaborate with other enforcement agencies to promote a safer Kano.
Both host agencies reiterated readiness to support NDLEA programmes and operations, pledging ongoing cooperation to enhance public safety and reduce drug-related crime in Kano State.
