The Kano State Government has taken a significant step towards revolutionizing its justice system by providing state-of-the-art technology to its legal team.
The Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Barr. Haruna Isa Dederi disclosed at a closing of retreats organised by the Ministry on Strengthening the Capacity of State Legal Counsel on the Use of Technology Using a Multiple Soft Wire for Virtual Court Sitting, Held in Kaduna.
The Commissioner added that the provision of cutting-edge technology is essential and would enhance the efficiency and productivity of the state’s legal team, enabling them to deliver justice more effectively. This move demonstrates the government’s commitment to improving the justice system by providing modern tools to its legal counsel.
Barr. Dederi re-emphasized the innovation as part of the government’s broader strategy to strengthen its justice system and ensure the smooth running and documentation of data and legal proceedings.
He added that the capacity-building program aimed to bridge operational gaps in areas such as Artificial Intelligence, forensic investigation, server security, and more, enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of the state’s justice system.
Barr. Dederi commended the government’s efforts in equipping all state legal counsels with laptops and essential working materials, noting that this is a welcome development and the first of its kind in the history of the Ministry.
He recalled that recently, Governor Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf employed 70 new lawyers and arrangements have been concluded to increase the number of new lawyers to 100 and even more to address the shortage of manpower and enhance the state’s legal services.
The Attorney General commended the efforts of the State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf for the provision of funds and for enabling Environment to the Ministry to hold the historic event, we have learned a lot especially the place of technology In the dispensation of Justice.
He then called upon the participants to make good use of the knowledge Acquired And apply it In practice.
