The Kano State Police Command, under the leadership of Commissioner of Police CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, PhD, SFIPMA, MNIM, MNIPS, MASIS, has handed over three recovered stolen vehicles to their rightful owners.

The handover followed operational breakthroughs recorded between October 8 and 9, 2026, during which four suspects were arrested and three stolen vehicles recovered by operatives of the Anti-Kidnapping Squad and Ungogo Division. The recoveries were earlier announced in the Command’s press release dated October 11, 2026.

The recovered vehicles—a Toyota Corolla, a Toyota Hiace minibus, and a Mitsubishi Canter truck—were handed over to their owners at the Bompai Police Headquarters in Kano after the verification of ownership documents and completion of the necessary legal procedures.

The exercise aligns with the policing vision of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, psc(+), NPM, which emphasises intelligence-led, professional and people-centred policing, the protection of lives and property, and the pursuit of justice for victims of crime.

The Commissioner of Police congratulated the beneficiaries and reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to ensuring that recovered stolen property is returned promptly to its rightful owners after due process.

He added that the arrested suspects would be charged in court upon the conclusion of investigations, while efforts were continuing to apprehend the remaining fleeing accomplice.

The vehicle owners expressed appreciation to the Nigeria Police Force and the Kano State Police Command for the swift recovery and return of their vehicles.

The Commissioner also commended the officers involved for their professionalism and urged members of the public to continue supporting the Police by providing timely and credible information.
