Kano Police Crack Down On Illicit Drug Trafficking, Hand Over Suspects to NDLEA

The Kano State Police Command has announced the arrest of two male suspects, Muntari Shu’aibu, 28, and Imrana Rabi’u, 25, in connection with the trafficking of suspected illicit drugs – Tramadol, in the state.

The suspects were caught in possession of six bales (cartons) of the suspected illicit drugs, valued at over N150 million.

In a skillfully coordinated intelligence-led sting operation, the Command apprehended the suspects following a tip-off. This significant arrest is evidence that the Command’s efforts to curb enablers of violent crimes, particularly illicit drug trafficking and abuse in Kano State, are yielding results.

State Police Commissioner CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, emphasized the Command’s commitment to combating crimes and ensuring citizen safety.

According to him, The Command remains committed to guaranteeing the safety and well-being of citizens.

“Today, the suspects and exhibits are being handed over to the National Drugs Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Kano Command, for further investigation and prosecution”. CP said

“This move aligns with the Inspector-General of Police’s directives on inclusive policing and inter-agency synergy among security organizations.

The fight against drug trafficking and abuse requires collective efforts, and the Command reiterates its commitment to collaborating with other security agencies.
