The Executive Secretary of the Kano State Hospitals Management Board (KSHMB) Dr. Mansur Mudi Nagoda has issued a strong warning to all Chief Medical Directors, Zonal Directors, and staff of Kano State-owned healthcare facilities regarding the unauthorized sale of scrap items.
Dr Nagoda said It has come to the notice of the Board that certain individuals within the healthcare system are engaging in the illicit sale of government property under the guise of scrap materials. Such actions are strictly prohibited and will not be tolerated under any circumstances henceforth.
The Executive Secretary emphasized that any individual found engaging in such activities will face severe disciplinary actions, including possible legal consequences. “All government properties, including scrap materials, remain assets of the state and must not be sold or disposed of without official authorization from the appropriate authorities”.
“Proper inventory should be taken and forwarded to the board headquarters no item should be excluded. The inventory will be forwarded to ministry of finance and bureau of procurement as they are the authorized sector with the soul responsibility of disposing such items, he said”.
The Kano State Hospitals Management Board is committed to ensuring transparency, accountability, and the proper utilization of government resources in all healthcare facilities under its jurisdiction. Therefore, staff members are urged to refrain from any form of misconduct that could undermine the integrity of the healthcare system.
To further reinforce compliance, Dr Nagoda added that a team will conduct strict monitoring and inspections across all facilities. Any reports of unauthorized sales should be promptly reported to the relevant authorities for immediate action.
“Those that were earlier caught with such acts have been punished, so let this be the last of such occurance”.
