The Kano State Head of Service, Hajiya Bilkisu Shehu Maimota, has congratulated the newly recruited civil servants employed by the Kano State Government, describing their appointment as a significant milestone in their careers and a demonstration of the administration’s commitment to strengthening the state civil service.
The Head of Service commended the administration of His Excellency, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, for approving the recruitment exercise, noting that it reflects the government’s determination to create employment opportunities for qualified citizens while enhancing the efficiency of the public service.
She urged the newly employed officers to justify the confidence reposed in them by embracing diligence, discipline, integrity, and professionalism in the discharge of their duties. According to her, the civil service remains the engine room of government, and every officer has a responsibility to contribute meaningfully to the development of Kano State through quality service delivery.
Hajiya Bilkisu Shehu Maimota further advised the new employees to familiarize themselves with the Public Service Rules, Financial Regulations, and other extant guidelines governing the civil service.
She emphasized the importance of punctuality, accountability, teamwork, and respect for constituting authority as essential values for a successful career in the public service.
The Head of Service also encouraged the recruits to continually improve their knowledge and skills through training and capacity-building programmes, stressing that learning and innovation are critical to achieving an efficient and productive civil service.
