Alfijir Media – The Kano State Fire Service has recorded 10 deaths and successfully rescued six lives from various fire outbreaks and emergency incidents across the state in July 2026.
The Service, in its monthly operational report, said it responded to a total of 20 fire incidents and attended to 13 emergency rescue calls during the period under review.
According to the report, five false alarm calls were also recorded, while property worth N9.381 million was destroyed by fire. However, firefighters succeeded in saving property estimated at N37.524 million from destruction.
The report covers firefighting and rescue operations carried out across the 44 Local Government Areas of Kano State during the month.
The Director of the Kano State Fire Service, Alhaji Sani Anas, urged residents to exercise extreme caution when handling fire and ensure that all sources of fire are completely extinguished after use to prevent avoidable fire outbreaks.
Anas also appealed to parents and guardians to closely monitor their children and prevent them from playing around puddles, ponds, rivers and uncovered wells, warning that such areas could expose children and young people to drowning incidents.
He assured residents that the Kano State Fire Service would continue to strengthen its emergency response operations, public safety awareness campaigns and collaboration with communities to protect lives and property across the state.
