Kano, Nigeria – Today, the Kano State Fire Service responded promptly to an emergency call reporting a fire incident at the old North Brewery Company.
At 12:18 pm, A one, Umar Tukur alerted the Fire Service about the incident. The crew on duty swiftly mobilized and arrived at the scene by 12:25 pm.
According to Alfijir News Upon arrival, they found a ground-floor building (1000 x 500 ft) engulfed in flames, with 19 iron tanks containing flammable chemicals. Fifteen tanks were fully ablaze, while four were partially alight.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the fire started during the removal of metal and equipment from the old brewery company, specifically when workers used an electric cutting machine to cut metal tanks.
The Fire Service deployed three jets – one from Bompai Fire Station and two from the Central Fire Station – to combat the blaze.
