The African Democratic Congress (ADC) gubernatorial candidate in Kano State, Alhaji Ibrahim Al-Amin Little, has unveiled 36-year-old Abdulkadir Shehu Bari as his running mate for the 2027 governorship election.
Speaking at the unveiling ceremony in Kano on Sunday, Al-Amin Little assured the people of the state that his administration, if elected, would prioritize economic development, job creation and the welfare of citizens.
The ADC candidate said his administration would pursue policies aimed at transforming Kano into a prosperous state capable of producing more millionaires and reducing poverty and unemployment.
He said particular attention would be given to creating economic opportunities for young people, with the aim of discouraging them from embarking on dangerous journeys to Europe in search of better living conditions.
According to him, his administration would also establish an independent power plant to support the revival of industries across the state and create more employment opportunities for the teeming youth.
Al-Amin Little further criticized what he described as the abuse of public resources by political leaders through laws and policies designed to benefit officeholders at the expense of the people.
He pledged that his administration would abolish laws that provide lifetime benefits for former governors, deputy governors and speakers of the State House of Assembly, including provisions for government-funded houses and exotic vehicles after leaving office.
The ADC candidate maintained that public resources should be used for the development of the state and improvement of citizens’ living conditions rather than for the personal enrichment of political officeholders.
He called on Kano voters to support the ADC in the 2027 election, promising to build an economy that would provide opportunities, create jobs and improve the overall well-being of the people.
