In the early hours of Monday, a fire reportedly broke out at the Katsina State Government House, causing concern among residents and officials.
The incident was first noticed around 6 a.m. by nearby residents. Alhaji Bashir, a local resident living close to the Government House, shared his account of the event.
“I saw a fire service truck rushing in. I was in my house after prayers when I noticed the commotion. The fire truck hurried into the Government House, and I later learned that there was a fire inside the red chamber, where Governor Dikko usually hosts guests,” he said.
Efforts to reach the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Ibrahim l Mohammed, for an official statement have been unsuccessful, as he has not responded to calls.
Authorities are currently investigating the cause of the fire, and further details are expected to emerge as the situation develops.
