Presents 2026 Budget as People-Centered Roadmap for Development
Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to transparent and accountable governance as he presented the 2026 Appropriation Bill before the Kano State House of Assembly.
Presenting the budget titled “Budget of Infrastructure, Inclusive Growth and Sustainable Development,” the Governor emphasized that the document was crafted with the direct interests of citizens at its core, describing it as “a people’s budget designed to reflect real needs and real priorities.”
Governor Yusuf disclosed that his administration has already achieved over 80% of the targets outlined in its development blueprint, attributing the progress to consistent public engagement and policy alignment with community needs.
“This budget is a reaffirmation of our promise to govern with honesty, openness, and responsibility. We have listened to our people, we have measured our progress, and we have built a fiscal plan that responds directly to those voices,” the Governor stated.
He thanked the 10th Kano State House of Assembly for maintaining a cooperative and respectful working relationship with the executive arm, noting that such synergy has made the delivery of key policies and projects more effective.
“I am grateful for the maturity and patriotism demonstrated by Honourable Members. Your support strengthens democracy and accelerates development,” he added.
Governor Yusuf also acknowledged the contributions of Ministries, Departments and Agencies, Development Partners, Civil Society Organizations, and the Council Affairs Directorate whose inputs enriched the quality of the budget.
According to him, successful implementation of the 2026 budget will further expand infrastructure, enhance education and healthcare services, stimulate economic growth, and improve the overall welfare of residents.
“We remain firmly committed to a transparent process that ensures every naira spent translates into visible impact for the people of Kano,” the Governor assured.
He prayed for divine guidance as the state enters the next phase of governance, reaffirming his dedication to serving citizens with integrity and diligence.
