The appointment was announced in a statement issued on Tuesday by the governor’s spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa.
According to the statement, the Emir of Karaye was also named Deputy Amirul Hajj to assist in coordinating and supervising pilgrims during the pilgrimage operations.
The government said the appointments were aimed at ensuring smooth planning and effective management of activities related to the 2026 Hajj exercise.
It added that the Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board would work closely with the appointed leaders to guarantee a successful pilgrimage for intending pilgrims from the state.
The statement further noted that the board would provide the necessary logistics and collaborate with health officials, security agencies, and other stakeholders to ensure the safety and welfare of pilgrims from Nigeria to the Holy Land.
The government urged intending pilgrims to cooperate with officials and follow all guidelines to ensure a peaceful and successful Hajj exercise.
It also stressed the importance of prayers and support from families and members of the public, while praying for Allah to grant pilgrims safe journeys and accept their acts of worship.
The state government assured residents that it would continue monitoring all stages of the Hajj preparations to ensure transparency, accountability, and proper management of funds and activities, with priority placed on the welfare of pilgrims.
The statement concluded with prayers for the protection of all pilgrims and their safe return home after the exercise.
