This initiative forms a key part of the government’s free maternity items program, a project spearheaded by His Excellency,the Executive Governor of Kano State Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf. The program is designed to bolster maternal and patient care by supplying essential healthcare items without cost to beneficiaries, ensuring that mothers and vulnerable patients receive the support they need.
Items to be distributed include:
1. CS Packs: 500 units
2. Delivery Packs: 6000 units
3. Hydroxyuria for SCD Patients: Valued at 55 million Naira.
This coordinated effort highlights the government’s commitment to enhancing public health services and supporting vulnerable populations. The free maternity items program and the provision of Hydroxyuria are crucial steps in improving healthcare outcomes, particularly for expectant mothers and patients living with chronic conditions such as sickle cell disease.
