President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the appointment of five new Permanent Secretaries to fill existing vacancies in the Federal Civil Service.
The announcement was made on Monday in Abuja by the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (HCSF), Mrs. Didi Walson-Jack, in a statement released through the Director of Information and Public Relations, Mrs. Eno Olotu.
The newly appointed Permanent Secretaries are Ibrahim Ozi (Federal Capital Territory), Ezemama Chidiebere (Imo State), Garba Usman (North Central), Mohammed Ishiyaku (North East), and Ukaire Chigbowu (South East).
According to the statement, the appointments were made following a rigorous and merit-based selection process consistent with President Tinubu’s drive for professionalism, transparency, and efficiency in public service.
Mrs. Walson-Jack congratulated the appointees and urged them to uphold the values of diligence, competence, and integrity in the discharge of their duties. She emphasized that the new officials are expected to help advance government reforms and strengthen service delivery across ministries.
The Head of Service noted that the new Permanent Secretaries are expected to drive the government’s reform agenda and ensure high performance standards. She commended President Tinubu for promoting meritocracy and professionalism in the civil service, reflecting his commitment to building a results-oriented and accountable bureaucracy focused on national development.
