In an impressive display of Quranic recitation skills, Bukhari Sunusi Idris from Kano State has taken the top spot at the 39th Musabaqah Quranic Recitation Competition.

The 39th Musabaqah Quranic recitation was Organized by the Center for Islamic Studies, Usman Danfodio University Sokoto, and hosted by the Kebbi State government, this prestigious event brought together talented Quranic reciters from across Nigeria.

The competition was overseen by a distinguished board of trustees, including Prof. Sa’adiya Omar OON (Chairman), Mal. M. K. Jabo (Deputy Chairman), and other esteemed members. After a rigorous evaluation process, the panel of judges announced the winners, with Bukhari Sunusi Idris scoring an impressive 98.20 to secure the first position.

The top five winners are:

– _1st Position_: Bukhari Sunusi Idris (Kano State) – 98.20
– _2nd Position_: Nuhu Muhammad (Gombe State) – 96.20
– _3rd Position_: Mustapha Muhammad Nasir (Kebbi State) – 95.30
– _4th Position_: Nafiu Ridwan Katsinawa (Bauchi State) – 93.40
– _5th Position_: Safiyanu Muhammad (Kaduna State) – 93.10

In a generous gesture, the Ganduje Foundation donated ₦2.25 million to the successful winners. The competition, held at the Federal Polytechnic in Kebbi State, showcased the exceptional talents of Nigeria’s young Quranic reciters.
