The Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, has approved the appointment of nineteen (19) new Permanent Secretaries and the redeployment of fourteen (14) serving Permanent Secretaries across Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) in the Kano State Civil Service.
Newly Appointed Permanent Secretaries and Their Postings
The newly appointed Permanent Secretaries are:
Muhammad Sani Suleiman – Policy and Administration, Government House.
Bashir Yusuf Al-Awwal (Ag. Permanent Secretary) – Policy and Strategy Directorate, Government House.
Bashir Ado Gaya – AGS, Deputy Governor’s Office.
Dr. Sani Lawan Gwarzo – Special Duties Directorate, Deputy Governor’s Office.
Abdulkadir Shehu – Ministry of Health (effective from 20th September, 2026).
Umma Dallatu – Ministry of Planning and Budget.
Muhammad Musbahu Yahuza – Ministry of Land and Physical Planning.
Rabi Ibrahim Waya – Ministry of Livestock Development.
Hauwa Nuhu Wali – Ministry of Religious Affairs.
Dr. Halima Ibrahim Mukhtar – Ministry of Investment and Commerce.
Uwani Ahmad Balarabe – Ministry for Special Duties.
Tsoho Aliyu Rogo – Ministry of Information.
Engr. Dauda Garba – Ministry of Power and Renewable Energy.
Idris Lawan Shanono – Ministry of Youth and Sports.
Umma Abbas Sunusi – Ministry of Culture and Tourism.
Aishatu Abdulkadir – Ministry of Women, Children and Disabled.
Hannatu Ado Gwaram – SERVICOM Directorate.

Redeployment of Serving Permanent Secretaries
The Governor also approved the redeployment of the following serving Permanent Secretaries:
Salisu Mustapha – from Establishment Directorate, Office of the Head of Civil Service (OHCS) to Cabinet Office/AGS Directorate.
Abba Adamu Danguguwa – from Ministry of Science and Technology to Establishment Directorate, OHCS.
Binta Lawan Aliyu – from Policy and Administration, Government House to Ministry of Agriculture.
Pharm. Aminu Bashir – from Ministry of Health to Ministry of Education (effective from 20th September, 2026).
Mustapha Nuruddeen Muhammad – from Ministry of Environment to Ministry of Science and Technology.
Bashir Sunusi – from Ministry of Agriculture to Ministry of Internal Security and Special Services.
Tijjani Muhammad Sharif – from Ministry of Housing Development to Ministry of Solid and Mineral Resources.
Engr. Garba Adamu – from Ministry of Public Procurement, Project Monitoring and Evaluation to Ministry of Water Resources.
Dr. Hadi Bala – from Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs to Directorate of Environment and Climate Change, Ministry of Water Resources, Environment and Climate Change.
Engr. Abdurrazak Haruna – from Ministry of Water Resources to Ministry of Public Procurement, Project Monitoring and Evaluation.
Abdulmuminu Musa Aliyu – from Ministry of Transportation to Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs.
Usman Bashir Maikano – from Deputy Governor’s Office to Ministry of Transportation.
Musbahu Ahmed Badawi – from Ministry of Rural and Community Development to Ministry of Housing Development.
Ibrahim Garba Kabara – from Ministry for Special Duties to Ministry of Rural and Community Development.
Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf congratulated the newly appointed Permanent Secretaries on their well-deserved appointments and urged them to regard the opportunity as a call to greater responsibility and selfless service to the people of Kano State.
The Governor also charged all the affected Permanent Secretaries to demonstrate diligence, professionalism, integrity and accountability in the discharge of their duties.
He emphasized the need for them to work collaboratively with their respective Ministries, Departments and Agencies to advance the Government’s development agenda and improve public service delivery.
Governor Yusuf expressed confidence in their ability to justify the confidence reposed in them and called on them to uphold the core values of the Kano State Civil Service while remaining committed to excellence, transparency and innovation.
The appointments and redeployments take immediate effect. All handing-over and taking-over processes are to be completed on or before Wednesday, 12th August, 2026.
