It is imperative to address the misleading and disrespectful response by one Muhammad Abdulrahman Jikan Sallaman Kano Dako, Dan Ciroman Sallama, to the open letter authored by Inuwa Waya and directed to His Highness, Emir Aminu Ado Bayero. While the intention was to ignore the baseless remarks from an individual evidently ignorant of the subject matter, the need to clarify and correct falsehoods has become necessary.
Firstly, it is crucial to highlight that Inuwa Waya, a respected elder and accomplished individual, is far beyond the age and standing of the writer. The unwarranted disrespect exhibited in the response underscores a lack of proper upbringing, internal discipline, and appreciation for cultural values. Such conduct does not reflect the esteemed norms of Kano’s traditional institutions, which are anchored on respect, dignity, and decorum.
Furthermore, the poorly articulated response by Muhammad Abdulrahman reveals a clear misunderstanding of the original letter’s content. The letter merely called on the revered Emir to maintain a dignified distance from political entanglements and pursue his rights through lawful means. It was an appeal rooted in loyalty, concern, and respect for the sanctity of Kano’s traditional institutions. It is unfortunate that the respondent misconstrued this genuine call for caution as a personal attack.
The audacity of Muhammad Abdulrahman to issue warnings to Inuwa Waya for referring to the Emir as a friend is both laughable and absurd. Does he speak on behalf of the Emir or the Emirate? On what authority does he attempt to dictate relationships? Inuwa Waya and Emir Aminu Ado Bayero have shared a bond of friendship long before positions of power were attained, and this friendship transcends titles or office.
It is individuals like Muhammad Abdulrahman who, through reckless and inflammatory comments, pose a threat to peace and harmony. His statements serve only to malign the reputation of the Emir and the Emirate, undermining the revered institution he claims to defend.
Consequently, appropriate security and law enforcement agencies will be notified to monitor his conduct, as his utterances could incite unrest and disrupt the peace of Kano State. We urge members of the public to disregard such divisive rhetoric and continue to uphold the values of respect, unity, and progress that Kano State is known for.
We remain committed to fostering a peaceful and respectful dialogue that promotes the best interests of Kano State and its traditional institutions.
