A CALL FOR PEACE, RESTRAINT, AND RESPONSIBLE LEADERSHIP IN KANO STATE - WAZOBIA

Greetings of Peace
Assalamu Alaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh

WAZOBIA CONFLICT RESOLUTION AND PEACE ADVOCACY INITIATIVE – WACORPAI_ writes with deep concern and a sincere commitment to peace, unity, and human dignity in our beloved Kano State.

As an organization dedicated to _Faith-Based Diplomacy, Inter-Religious Dialogue, and Conflict Management_, we have observed with pain the recent exchanges of harsh words, personal attacks, and public criticisms among political leaders in Kano State.

Kano is a land of heritage, commerce, scholarship, and brotherhood. Our strength has always been in our unity and our ability to disagree without destroying one another.

_We respectfully remind all leaders and stakeholders:_

1. _Politics is a means to serve, not a weapon to divide._
    Differences in opinion and party affiliation are normal in democracy. But respect, civility, and brotherhood must not be sacrificed.

2. _Leadership is about responsibility to the people._
    Our elders, youths, and children are watching. When leaders model hostility, communities copy it. When leaders model restraint, communities heal.

3. _Our shared humanity is greater than our political differences._
    Positions are temporary. Elections come and go. Governments change.
    But we remain brothers, sisters, and neighbors in Kano. We all return to ALLAH.

ALLAH (SWT) commands us:
_“And hold firmly to the rope of Allah all together and do not become divided.”_ (Qur’an 3:103)

Our noble Prophet Muhammad (SAW) taught us that believers are like one body. When one part is in pain, the whole body feels it.

_WACORPAI therefore humbly appeals to all political actors, party leaders, supporters, and media platforms:_

– _Let peace prevail over anger._
– _Let dialogue replace insults._
– _Let ideas compete, not personalities._
– _Let wisdom guide our public discourse._
– _Let the fear of ALLAH and love for Kano guide every action._

Kano State faces real challenges that need the collective wisdom, experience, and cooperation of all sons and daughters, regardless of party. Let us channel our energy into solutions for security, education, youth empowerment, and economic growth.

_To our leaders:_ History will remember not only what you achieved in office, but how you conducted yourself outside of it. Reconciliation is strength. Forgiveness is leadership.

WACORPAI remains committed to supporting any initiative that promotes _peaceful coexistence, interfaith harmony, and service to humanity_ in Kano and across Nigeria.

May ALLAH (SWT) bless Kano State with lasting peace, unity, and prosperity. Ameen.
