The Kano State Government has approved the appointment of Dr. Ibrahim Garba Muhammad as the Executive Secretary of the Kano State Consumer Protection Council.
The appointment was approved by the Executive Governor of Kano State, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, as part of the administration’s commitment to strengthening government institutions for effective service delivery and responsive governance.
Prior to his appointment, Dr. Ibrahim Garba Muhammad served as Special Adviser on Human Resources to the Governor. He holds a PhD in Management from Universiti Utara Malaysia, a Master’s degree in Management from Bayero University Kano (BUK), and a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Bayero University Kano.
Dr. Muhammad is an experienced civil servant, seasoned academician, and administrator with years of public service experience. He is also the Chairman Governing Board of the Centre for Awareness on Justice and Accountability (CAJA), and a former National Secretary of Northern Youth in Defence of Democracy.
Over the years, he has chaired several strategic government committees, including the Investigative Committee on the Activities of the Consumer Protection Council, the Asset Sharing Committee between the Ministry of Agriculture and the newly created Ministry of Livestock Development, and the Committee on Determination and Distribution of Relief Materials to Fire Disaster Victims in Zago Town, Kano.
He also served as Chairman of the Committee for Demonstrating Compliance with the Federal Character Principle in the Private Sector in Kano State, Co-Chairman of the Committee for Compliance with the Federal Character Principle by Federal MDAs operating in the state, Secretary of the Steering Committee for 26 Entrepreneurship Kano, in addition to membership of several other committees and public service engagements.
Speaking on the appointment, the Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Umar Faruk Ibrahim, described Dr. Muhammad as a dedicated and competent administrator whose wealth of experience, professionalism, and commitment to public service would further enhance the operations of the Council.
The SSG conveyed the congratulations of the Kano State Government and prayed for Almighty Allah to grant the newly appointed Executive Secretary wisdom, strength, and guidance in the discharge of his responsibilities.
In his remarks, Dr. Ibrahim Garba Muhammad expressed gratitude to Almighty Allah and appreciated Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf for the confidence reposed in him, pledging to work diligently in line with the vision of the present administration toward repositioning the Kano State Consumer Protection Council for greater efficiency and effective consumer protection service delivery in the state.
