The Nigerian Army says it will continue to reward hardwork among its officers and men to profel and stimulate junior officers to strive for excellence to enhance professionalism in line with the command philosophy.
Acting Chief Of Army Staff Major General Olufemi Oluyede who stated this at the TRADOC Nigerian Army Merit Award 2024 in Minna, Niger state said the award was instituted to honour officers who have distinguished themselves in various capacities during the Nigerian Army Examinations conducted by TRADOC.

Represented by the Director General Nigerian Army Heritage and Future Centre, Major General Obinna Ajunwa, the Acting Chief Of Army Staff further explained that the ceremony is to reward and recognize hardwork, dedication, and commitment of Nigerian Army officers while promoting healthy competition among Nigerian Army corps and institutions towards enhancing professionalism in service.
Major General Olufemi Oluyede, thanked President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Minister of Defense and and Chief Of Defense Staff for their untiring support as well as commended the TRADOC Commander for prudently utilizing approved funds in constructing the magnificent edifice named after the Chief Of Army Staff Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja that was commissioned by the Acting Chief Of Army Staff at Minna Cantonment.
In his remarks Commander Training and Doctrine Command of Nigerian Army TRADOC Major General Kevin Aligbe, said they have improved on TRADOC Educational Support Programme with distribution of about thirty three thousand exercise books and writing materials to over seven thousand two hundred children in four schools in Minna Cantonment saying the programme was introduced in twenty twenty three to reduce the burden on communities and troops as part of its civil military cooperation.
Major General Kevin Aligbe explained that they owe the Acting Chief Of Army Staff a debt of gratitude as well as Principal Staff Officers Army Headquarters, Corps Commanders and Commandants across Nigerian Army for their support and called for more to succeed.
According to him the award evaluations and assessments carried out by TRADOC Nigerian Army have yielded remarkable improvements in quality of training in its schools and administration in various formations.
In a goodwill message the Director General Voice Of Nigeria, Malam Jibrin Baba Ndace represented by one of his Director Alhamdulillah Zubairu Idris Abdulra’uf the Director General said the partner between them and TRADOC Nigerian Army is crucial in sharing their success stories by promoting them positively.
Speaking on behalf of the awardees Captain Mustapha Ahmed thanked the Commander TRADOC Nigerian Army, Major General Kevin Aligbe, and all those that have contributed to the success of the event and gave an assurance that they will justify the confidence reposed in them.
