The Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa (Rtd), CON, OFR, has awarded ASN SM Maigatari, Public Relations Officer of the NDLEA Kano State Strategic Command, the Chairman/Chief Executive Officer’s Commendation in recognition of his outstanding service and dedication to duty. The honor highlights ASN Maigatari’s exceptional contributions to public outreach and transparency in promoting the Agency’s mission and values.
The commendation letter was presented by the Zonal Commander, Zone 5 of the NDLEA, DCGN Maryam Gambo Sani, who conveyed the Chairman/Chief Executive’s praise on behalf of the Agency. In presenting the letter, DCGN Maryam Gambo Sani described Maigatari as “a dedicated officer, bridging the gap between the NDLEA and the public.”
As the principal liaison between the Command and local communities, media organizations, and partner stakeholders, ASN Maigatari has strengthened public information efforts through timely media briefings, coordinated awareness campaigns, and proactive engagement that advances understanding of the NDLEA’s mandate to prevent and combat drug trafficking and substance abuse.
In recognition of distinguished performance across the commands, the Chairman’s commendation was also extended to six other officers of the Kano State Strategic Command. These officers were acknowledged for their exemplary professionalism, steadfast commitment to duty, and meaningful contributions to operations that further the NDLEA’s objectives.
Commenting on the commendation, the Commander of the NDLEA Kano State Strategic Command, ACGN AI Ahmad, said, “ASN Maigatari’s professionalism and commitment have significantly improved our visibility and strengthened public trust. His work exemplifies the values and mission of the NDLEA.”
While appreciating the Chairman, Maigatari said, “I am deeply honored and grateful to the Chairman/Chief Executive Officer, Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa (Rtd), CON, OFR, for conferring on me the Chairman/Chief Executive’s Commendation. This recognition strengthens my resolve to redouble efforts in strengthening public engagement, promoting transparency, and advancing the NDLEA’s mission to prevent and combat drug trafficking and substance abuse.
