The Kano State Police Command has made another significant breakthroughs in its efforts to combat drug trafficking and other related crimes in the State. In an operation conducted by police officers attached to Jaoji Police Division Kano, a suspected drug dealer, Hafizu Ali, ‘m’, 25 years old, of Jaoji Quarters Kano, and five suspected thugs were arrested. Various illicit substances and dangerous weapons were recovered.
The operation which was carried out on 10th January 2026 under the direction of the State Commissioner of Police, CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, PhD, sfipma, mnim, mnips, masis, followed the guidance and directives of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, PhD, NPM, to all police commands and formations to implement strategic crime prevention measures aimed at dismantling criminal networks and ensuring safety of residents.
The suspected drug dealer was found in possession of various illicit substances, including 2,070 suspected Pregabalin capsules and 23 parcels of suspected Cannabis Sativa. Four knives, two scissors and an axe were recovered from the suspected thugs.
The Commissioner of Police commended the officers for their commitment and dedication to duty and thanked the good people of the state for their support and cooperation. The suspects will be charged to court upon completion of the investigations.
