KANO ASSEMBLY
KANO, Nigeria — The Kano State House of Assembly has received the names of six nominees submitted by Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf for consideration for appointment as commissioners and members of the State Executive Council.
The Speaker of the House, Rt. Hon. Jibril Ismail Falgore, reportedly announced the submission during plenary while reading a letter from the governor.
The six nominees are:
1. Retired Air Commodore Salisu Yusha’u
2. Professor Sani Lawan
3. Hon. Muntari Ishaq
4. Dr. Aminu Ibrahim Tsanyawa
5. Hon. Idris Garba Mustapha
6. Ibrahim Namadi Dala
The submission of the nominees marks a step towards their possible inclusion in the Kano State Executive Council. They are expected to undergo the required legislative screening and consideration before any appointments can be confirmed.
Commissioners are responsible for overseeing their respective ministries, implementing government policies and programmes, and advising the governor on matters relating to governance and public service delivery.
The Assembly’s consideration of the nominees will determine the next stage of the appointment process.
