A Special Report by Alfijir News on Education, Children and Community Impact
ALFIJIR NEWS
In Nigeria, education, child development and the future of young people remain important areas requiring sustained attention from government, private-sector organisations, civil-society groups and other stakeholders.
In this special report, **Alfijir Labarai** examines selected initiatives associated with Indomie/Dufil Prima Foods, particularly programmes relating to children, education, creativity and community engagement.
1. INDOMIE SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM 2026
One of the most significant current initiatives relating directly to the educational future of young Nigerians is the Indomie Scholarship Program 2026
According to information published on Indomie’s official website, the programme provides full tuition scholarships to Nigerian students entering tertiary education in the 2026/2027 academic session
The programme covers new students admitted into public and state-owned universities, polytechnics, colleges of education and specialised institutions.
Indomie states that the scholarship may be renewed annually, provided beneficiaries meet the required academic performance conditions.
The application is free. Applicants can begin the registration process before completing the upload of documents such as their O’Level and JAMB results, in line with the programme’s application requirements.
The application deadline is September 30, 2026.
Following the application stage, shortlisted candidates are expected to participate in a Computer-Based Test (CBT) and subsequent physical verification before the final selection.
The programme therefore represents an important opportunity for students seeking financial support for tertiary education.
2. INDOMIE FAN CLUB — CHILDREN AND LEARNING
Another major initiative is the Indomie Fan Club (IFC)
According to Indomie, the Fan Club was launched in 2005 as an extracurricular platform for children between the ages of 4 and 12.
The company says the programme currently involves more than 100,000 children across different regions of Nigeria.
Activities associated with the Fan Club include:
* Writing competitions;
* Drawing competitions;
* Singing and talent competitions;
* Factory excursions;
* School activities;
* Children’s Day celebrations; and
* Safety-awareness programmes for children.
Indomie has also stated that it works with the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) to provide participating children with safety education.
The programme therefore combines recreational activities with opportunities for learning, participation and talent development.
3. SUPPORTING CHILDREN’S CREATIVITY AND TALENT
Indomie has also used the Fan Club platform to promote creativity among children through different competitions and activities.
In an official report on the Team Yourself Up Competition, Indomie stated that the eighth edition received more than 70,000 entries.
The company also reported that, since the competition began in 2015, it has generated hundreds of thousands of creative works produced by children.
Such programmes provide children with opportunities to express their creativity, participate in competitions and develop confidence in their abilities.
They also demonstrate how entertainment and brand-related activities can be combined with creative engagement among children.
4. CHILDREN’S DAY AND CHILD-FOCUSED COMMUNITY ACTIVITIES
Indomie has also organised Children’s Day programmes over several years.
The company has reported activities involving more than 100,000 school children during one of its Children’s Day programmes.
Other child- and education-related activities reported by the company include:
* Children’s Day celebrations;
* Indomie Fan Club activities;
* School programmes;
* School prize-giving activities;
* School feeding programmes;
* Donations to schools and hospitals; and
* Other child-focused community initiatives.
These activities form part of the broader discussion around the role of private-sector organisations in supporting education, children and community development.
5. INDOMIE AREWA
Indomie also operates an Indomie Arewa platform with information available in both Hausa and English.
The platform currently promotes the “Garabasar Samun Nasara da Indomie” campaign, which provides consumers with opportunities to participate in a reward programme based on the conditions communicated by the company.
The existence of a dedicated platform for Northern audiences demonstrates an approach to engaging consumers in the region through local-language communication.
WHAT DOES THIS MEAN FOR NORTHERN NIGERIA?
From a public-interest perspective, programmes such as the 2026 scholarship can have greater impact when accurate information reaches students, parents and schools on time.
For scholarship opportunities in particular, students need clear information about:
who qualifies → how to apply → application deadline → required documents → selection process → and how to avoid fraudulent agents.
This is important because lack of accurate information can prevent otherwise eligible students from taking advantage of available opportunities.
Parents and students should also rely on official communication channels when verifying scholarship information and other programmes, particularly because false information and fraudulent claims can circulate on social media.
ALFIJIR NEWS OBSERVATION
Our review indicates that Indomie operates programmes extending beyond its core food business into areas involving children, education, creativity and community engagement.
Among the initiatives examined in this report are:
* Indomie Scholarship Program;
* Indomie Fan Club;
* Creativity and talent programmes;
* Children’s Day activities;
* School-related initiatives; and
* Indomie Arewa.
At the same time, as with any major corporate social responsibility programme, continued transparency and impact measurement remain important.
This includes providing information about:
* The number of beneficiaries;
* The geographical areas reached;
* The outcomes achieved;
* How programme impact is measured; and
* How information about available opportunities reaches those who need it most.
These are not accusations. They are important elements of responsible public-interest reporting and help the public better understand the scale, reach and impact of community initiatives.
CONCLUSION
Education, child development and access to opportunities that can help young Nigerians build their future remain important issues for the country.
Programmes focusing on scholarships, children, creativity, schools and public awareness can contribute to creating such opportunities.
The Indomie Scholarship Program 2026, Indomie Fan Club, creativity initiatives, Children’s Day activities and *Indomie Arewa* are among the programmes that merit continued public attention and monitoring as their impact on children, students and communities develops.
For Northern Nigeria in particular, providing accurate information in both Hausa and English can help parents, students and schools understand available opportunities and participate through the appropriate channels.
Ultimately, one of the most important factors is the availability of accurate, timely and accessible information.
Because when people do not know that an opportunity exists, they may never have the chance to benefit from it.
