In a bold move aimed at enhancing automotive maintenance standards across the country, Ammasco Lubricant has organized a specialized training program for mechanics, equipping them with modern knowledge on how to identify quality engine oils and understand the importance of using the right lubricant for different vehicles. The initiative, held in Kano, underscores the companyโs commitment to promoting efficiency and durability in vehicle performance.
Speaking during a press briefing, the Managing Director of Ammasco Lubricant, Alhaji Ibrahim Mustapha Ado, explained that the training was designed to educate mechanics on practical methods of distinguishing high-quality engine oil from substandard products.
According to him, the program became necessary as automotive technology continues to evolve, especially with the growing adoption of modern engine systems.
He revealed that mechanics from different sectors were invited to participate, alongside technical partners from the United Kingdom, who provided expert insights into the workings of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) engines, petrol-powered vehicles, and diesel systems. Alhaji Ado stressed that every vehicle is designed for a specific grade and type of lubricant, noting that the wrong choice of engine oil can significantly affect performance and lifespan.
Also speaking, the Commercial and Trade Manager of Ammasco Lubricant, Alhaji Abubakar Ayuba Matazu, described the workshop as a strategic intervention intended to deepen mechanicsโ understanding of lubricant quality and proper usage. He emphasized that the company remains committed to supporting professionals in the automotive sector with the right knowledge needed to meet emerging industry demands.
Earlier in his remarks, the National Secretary of Mechanics, Ambassador Musa Yahaya, commended Ammasco for the initiative, describing it as timely and impactful. He admitted that before such interventions, many mechanics lacked proper understanding of the differences between engine oils, but said the training has now broadened their knowledge, particularly at a time when CNG technology is gaining momentum in Nigeria.
He further noted that the primary objective of the workshop is to ensure that mechanics and commercial tricycle operators acquire practical knowledge on the proper use of lubricants and evolving vehicle technologies. Ammasco reaffirmed its determination to sustain similar awareness programs while continuing to develop innovative solutions that improve vehicle performance and support the future of transportation in the country.
