The Nuhu Abdullahi Development Foundation has officially launched its operations with the commissioning of Phase One of its education intervention project in Kawon Mai Gari, Kano State, reaffirming its commitment to improving access to quality education and child-friendly learning environments across Northern Nigeria.

Speaking at the official launch, the Founder, Nuhu Abdullahi, described the initiative as a practical step toward supporting educational development and safeguarding the future of children in the region.

He stated that the foundation was established on the belief that every child in Northern Nigeria deserves access to a conducive learning environment, including functional classrooms, adequate furniture, safe sanitation facilities, and motivated teachers.

Nuhu Abdullahi commended the Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, for declaring a State of Emergency in Education and for ongoing reforms aimed at revitalizing the sector through school renovations, provision of instructional materials, and modernization of educational institutions.

He also praised the recent recruitment of teachers under the Better Education Service Delivery for All (BESDA) programme, describing it as a major boost to quality teaching and learning in the state.

At the federal level, the Foundation acknowledged the efforts of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, particularly the establishment of the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND), which is aimed at expanding access to higher education by removing financial barriers for Nigerian students.

The Foundation noted that its intervention aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), specifically SDG 4 (Quality Education) and SDG 6 (Clean Water and Sanitation).

Under Phase One, the Foundation executed the following projects at Kawon Mai Gari:

Renovation, repainting, and furnishing of four primary school classrooms with 108 single-seater desks.

Equipping of an ECCG ward with specialized round tables and chairs designed for early learners.

Construction of two separate toilet blocks for staff and students, supported by a sustainable water supply system.

Provision of two fully furnished staff rooms to create a conducive working environment for teachers.

According to the Foundation, the intervention is designed to complement government efforts in strengthening the education sector while encouraging community participation in sustainable development.

The Foundation emphasized that this marks only the beginning of broader interventions aimed at delivering impactful, locally-driven solutions that meet global standards.

“As children resume for the third term, these facilities should serve as a reminder that their future matters and that society is committed to investing in their success,” the statement added.

The Nuhu Abdullahi Development Foundation called on stakeholders, development partners, and members of the community to support its vision of building stronger educational systems and empowering future generations across Northern Nigeria.
