Stakeholders of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) in Dawakin Tofa Local Government Area have declared total readiness to follow Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf wherever he goes politically, firmly aligning the local party structure with his leadership as Kano’s political realignment gathers momentum ahead of 2027.
The declaration was made at a high-level stakeholders’ meeting attended by party leaders, political appointees, and grassroots mobilisers from across the local government.
Speaking at the meeting, the Chairman of Dawakin Tofa Local Government, Anas Mukhtar Bello Danmaliki, said the decision was driven by Governor Yusuf’s performance and warned against enemies of progress attempting to create divisions between Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso and the Governor.
Also speaking, the Director-General, Media and Publicity, Government House Kano, Alhaji Sunusi Bature D-Tofa, endorsed the resolution, stressing that Dawakin Tofa’s political loyalty remains firmly with Governor Yusuf.
“Wherever Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf goes politically, we will follow,” he said.
Other key commentators at the meeting included the NNPP Women Leader, Hajiya Hasiya Aminu; NNPP Chairman, Uban-Iya Dawanau; the Accountant-General of Kano State, Hadiza Magaji Abdullahi; Chairman, Option A, Nuhu Ibrahim; and the Chairman of the Kwankwasiyya Movement, Amadi Chedi.
They unanimously echoed support for Governor Yusuf, declaring their readiness to align with him politically.
However, observers noted a notable absence at the meeting, as the NNPP Kano State Chairman, Hashimu Dungurawa, was not present and reportedly offered no apology, a development that attracted attention amid the strong show of unity by Dawakin Tofa stakeholders.
The meeting, which was attended by all political appointees from Dawakin Tofa Local Government, ended with a unanimous resolve to maintain internal cohesion, resist divisive narratives, and strategically position the local government ahead of the 2027 general elections.
