Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, has extended heartfelt condolences to the family, friends, and the entire academic community over the passing of Professor Adamu Baikie, a renowned educationist and symbol of inter-regional unity in Nigeria, who died at the age of 94.

Governor Yusuf described the late Professor Baikie as a trailblazer whose contributions to education and nation-building transcended regional and cultural boundaries, noting that his life and work remain a beacon of hope for a united and prosperous Nigeria.
He said that as one of the pioneering professors of education from Northern Nigeria, Professor Baikie left an indelible mark on the country’s educational landscape through visionary leadership and unwavering commitment to academic excellence.
The governor noted that the late scholar inspired generations of students and academics, nurturing leaders who continue to contribute meaningfully to national development.
According to Governor Yusuf, Professor Adamu Baikie was a shining example of dedication, integrity, and selfless service to humanity, stressing that his death is not only a loss to his immediate family but to the entire nation.
The Kano State Government and people of the state join the academic community in mourning the loss and pray that Almighty Allah grants the deceased eternal rest and gives his family the fortitude to bear the loss.
