A high court in Kano under Justice Zuwaira Yusuf has issued a restraining order against Ganduje Foundation, Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje and Haroun Ibn Sina over their plan to establish independent Hisba Fisabilillah in Kano.
Other defenders in the suit include, Kano Police Commissioner and other security agencies in the state.
This followed a lawsuit file before the court by the Northern Youth Assembly ( NYA) challenging the formation and operation of any independent Hisba body.
The counsel of the applicant Barrister Badamasi Sulaiman Gandu told reporters that, the court ordered the defenders to halt any action pending the determination of the suit.
Barrister Badamasi Sulaiman Gandu explained that, security agencies included in the suit are to ensure compliance of the order.
The counsel said, Justice Zuwaira Yusuf has adjourned the case till 30th of December 2025 for further hearing
