As part of its “Get Involved, Dialogue, and Improve” project, Stallion Times Media Services hosted a roundtable discussion on constituency projects in Kano State on September 21, 2024.
In a communique signed by Maria Alikote, Chairperson of the program reiterated that the event aimed to promote active citizen participation in governance and quality service delivery.
The program According to Alfijir News Correspondent, is in collaboration with the Wole Soyinka Centre for Investigative Journalism and supported by the MacArthur Foundation, brought together stakeholders to discuss constituency project implementation.
During the event, Chairperson Maria Alikote led the discussion.
Highlight of the event, the participants resolved to push for transparency, accountability, and community-driven participation in constituency project implementation.
They urged the government, legislators, and relevant authorities to ensure projects align with local needs and are implemented effectively.
Key recommendations included establishing constituency project monitoring committees and capacity-building programs for legislators and stakeholders. Participants emphasized the importance of community involvement in project identification, design, and implementation.
The roundtable discussion culminated in a communiqué, representing the collective voice and commitment of participants.
The communiqué calls on the government to consider the resolutions and implement them to pave the way for effective constituency project implementation in Kano State.
The “Get Involved, Dialogue, and Improve” project seeks to promote participatory governance and media literacy in Kano and Kogi states.
